Despite having a fairly subdued release schedule earlier this week on the indie games front, Friday is jam packed with new games to check out. First up we have Yesterday Origins, a point and click adventure from Pendulo Studios and Microïds which follows immortals John Yesterday and Pauline Petit on an epic adventure through time in a story full of intrigue and unexpected twists. The story begins as John is imprisoned by the Spanish Inquisition under the suspicion of witchcraft, only to be re-awoken 500 years later with no memory. You can pick up Yesterday Origins for $39.99.
Next up is Bombing Busters, a multiplayer, arcade, maze puzzler from Sanuk Games. Players will need to bomb oodles of nasty critters in a series of 30 wicked mazes set across 5 picturesque worlds. The game features a single-player adventure where you help the witty Dr. Wallow get rid of all the critters and become the ruler of the galaxy, as well as a fully customizable battle mode up to four players offline. Bombing Busters will set you back a mere $6.99.
Clouds & Sheep 2 from Handy Games, also launched today for $9.99. If you’re wondering what happened to Clouds & Sheep 1, it seems to be a mobile only game, but lucky for us the sequel has made it onto the Xbox One. Players will need to raise and care for a bunch of woolly sheep by planting grass, flowers and trees as well as shearing different-colored wool from your heard. However these sheep seem to be more demanding than the usual flock, so you’ll need to entertain them with trampolines and seesaws and even dress them up in pirate themed costumes.
Finally, we have Wheels of Aurelia, a narrative road trip game set in the roaring Italian 70s from MixedBag Srl. The game tells the story of Lella, a restless woman driving on the roads of the western coast of Italy, the famous “Via Aurelia” during a time of terrorism, kidnappings, and political turmoil. Gameplay takes the shape of an isometric racer with interactive fiction and a focus on replayability: every playthrough lasts about fifteen minutes and there are sixteen different endings to discover. You can pick up Wheels of Aurelia today for $9.99.
