Three new releases hit the Xbox One store this Friday, so let’s take a quick look each before you get your mitts dirty. First up is retro submarine shooter Aqua Kitty UDX from Tikipod. The story goes that due to a sudden shortage of milk, cats around the world are forced to seek out new sources to get their fix. Players will need to pilot a submarine, together with a team of milk mining kittens, and drill the ocean seabed and begin extracting vast reserves of what seems to be naturally forming full-fat milk. The game released on PC and PS4 a few years ago, but this new edition for Xbox One comes an additional Dreadnought mode which challenges you to take down huge multi-screen enemy craft, whilst rescuing imprisoned kittens, as well as optional two player co-op. Pick it up for $8.99.
Next we have Pixel Heroes: Byte & Magic from The Bitfather and Headup Games, a tongue in cheek retro RPG that’s also part rougelike. Players can explore a randomized world full of hilarious events, deadly dungeons and the weirdest NPCs you will ever meet in a game. Choose 3 heroes, from a pool of 30, and take them on a journey that will be completely different each time you start a new game. The game features procedurally generated loot, 13 dungeons to explore each with an epic bossfight, and 3 campaigns to unlock of increasing difficulty. Pick it up for $9.99.
Lastly we have Knee Deep, an interactive crime thriller where choices matter as you investigate a mysterious suicide. The story begins when a washed-up actor hangs himself on location, casting a spotlight on the backwater Florida town of Cypress Knee. Your screen becomes a stage as you investigate as three distinct characters: cheeky blogger Romana Teague, down-and-out local reporter Jack Bellet, and cynical private investigator K.C. Gaddis. Players must use keen observation, deduction, and cleverness to pull back the curtain and reveal the true story behind this swampland conspiracy. Knee Deep was developed and published by Wales Interactive and is currently on sale with 20% off for the next week for $11.99. The game will set you back $14.99 thereafter.
