Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons coming to Xbox One this holiday…or maybe this summer (updated)
Following an appearance on a German ratings board last month, Starbreeze Studios’ Xbox One port of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is now officially coming to Xbox One. The port will arrive this holiday season, publisher 505 Games revealed today.
Conflicting 505 Game’s holiday release announcement, several prominent media outlets like GameSpot and Eurogamer are reporting a summer release date for Brothers on Xbox One. Indeed, a separate press release from the one XBLA Fans received points to a summer release on Xbox One and says the re-release will come with director’s commentary, a soundtrack and a concept art gallery packed in.
XBLA Fans has reached out to 505 in regards to the game’s release window and will update this story should the publisher issue a response.
The game, in which players simultaneously control a pair of brothers searching for a cure for their sick father, originally released on Xbox 360 in August of 2013. In our review, XBLA Fans called Brothers “a bold and creative step to enrich our industry” and gave it a “Buy It” rating.
Update: In response to XBLA Fans’ inquiry, A 505 Games representative stated that Brothers will release this summer on Xbox One. The holiday window is for the game’s mobile release.
