DUngeon Heading Header

Ascend: Hand of Kul is littered with dungeons comprised of multiple floors, increasingly difficult enemies and loot-filled chests. Some dungeons are required to complete in order to progress through Ascend‘s story, while others are completely optional and only serve as a means to earn experience, items and equipment.

Ascend‘s dungeons are randomly generated, meaning the layout and content changes and refreshes. This refresh period currently takes place at 11PM Pacific Standard Time, allowing you to gather each dungeon’s contents once per day. Below we’ve documented every dungeon currently available in Ascend: Hand of Kul, broken into non-alignment and alignment-specific categories, along with the number of floors and a loose approximation of loot contained therein. For more information on the best dungeons to farm for equipment, visit the Farming section of this guide.

[Editor’s Note: The number and quality of chests for each dungeon listed below are represented as we encountered them and should only be used as a ballpark estimation of what to expect during your experience.]

Alignment Dungeons

Dungeon_Entrance

Dungeons that are specific to an alignment are similar to regular dungeons with the exception that they cannot be accessed by a player of another alignment unless that player has purchased a Mask Boost to disguise their entry. In addition, dungeons of a certain alignment only contain enemies of that alignment, meaning trolls, wolves, ogres, etc. will be infused with the powers of their God’s alignment. It’s important to be wary of enemies in alignment dungeons; the additional elemental damage linked with their attacks could be lethal as it bypasses conventional armor.

Lastly, alignment dungeons always house a “treasure room” on the final level containing one epic chest and at least two gold chests. As dungeons are random the overall number and quality of chests can vary with each run, but the treasure room is guaranteed.

The Endless Dungeon

Endless Dungeon

The Endless Dungeon
Location: The Sanctum

Ascend: Hand of Kul features an Endless Dungeon, the ultimate test of your skills and your champion’s endurance. There are several differences between a standard dungeon and the Endless Dungeon:

  • In order to descend to a lower floor while inside the Endless Dungeon, you must kill the required number of enemies and bosses on your current floor. You cannot progress otherwise.
  • Instead of a single “theme” throughout the dungeon, each level varies, incorporating all standard and alignment-based enemy types.
  • Players do not earn souls or experience for enemy kills in the Endless Dungeon. As such, the combo multiplier has been removed while inside.
  • Equipment does not take damage while inside the Endless Dungeon.
  • At the end of each floor, you’ll be rewarded with a bonus number of souls. You may choose to “cash out” and collect your souls, leaving the dungeon, or continue to the next floor for a greater soul bonus.
  • Should you die within the Endless Dungeon, you’ll be returned to the Sanctum without a soul bonus.
  • Weapons do reduced damage against enemies for each enemy level above the weapon level. Enemies that are 17+ levels higher than your equipped weapon’s level will take only 1 point of damage per swing, effectively removing your ability to do melee damage. For this reason, you shouldn’t attempt to go too deep until you’ve appropriately unlocked and upgraded your spells. They will be your only source of damage for the majority of your descent.
