The Xbox One will support the ability to play games as they’re downloading, Microsoft today confirmed with Polygon. Though we already knew the console allows users to begin playing games while installing from the disc – important to note as all disc-based games will require installation to the hard drive – the news confirms that downloadable titles will offer the same convenience.

Sony touted similar functionality earlier this year on it’s upcoming PlayStation 4, which further demonstrates Microsoft’s inability to communicate its system’s selling points right out of the gate. Let’s hope that the message becomes more concise, now that the bumps from Xbox One’s rocky introduction have started to smooth out.
