Microsoft announced this week that Xbox 360 Preview members can now send digital gift cards to other gamers through their Xbox 360 consoles.

Gift cards are available in six increments ranging from $10-100, and they do not expire. Credits can be used to purchase not only games, but also apps, music and TV shows from the Xbox, Windows and select Microsoft online stores.

To send a gift card, users select the profile of the person they want to send the gift to in either Social twist or the Xbox Guide and then select “Send Gift.” After they make their purchase, the gift will be sent to the recipient as a token in an Xbox Live message.

This service is currently available to Preview members in the US, Canada, France, Germany and the UK. No announcement has been made yet in regards to availability on the Xbox One.
