Guwange Review (XBLA)

Guwange is a vertical scrolling shooting game, launched in Japanese arcades in 1999.  Set in the Muromachi period of Japanese history, Guwange tells the tale of the “Shikigami users”, hosts to ghostly avatars called Shikigami. Unlike other CAVE shooting games, known for their fighter craft and destructive machinery, the heroes of Guwange walk across the demonic landscape on their quest to rid themselves of the Shikigami curse, cutting a swath through enemies.

Yars’ Revenge reboot revealed, will they finally get their revenge?

Yars’ Revenge was a science fiction game for the Atari 2600. You may have played it, and if you have you wouldn’t forget it. The game had you playing as one of the numerous Yars, a futuristic mutated house-fly that just wants their home back. Because you see, the Qotic (evil aliens, we presume) have destroyed all three. Users spend 1 Billion hours on Xbox Live every month

That’s according to some statistics that Xbox Live’s Major Nelson (Larry Hyrb) shared over on his blog. Those aren’t exclusively hours spent playing games however, those are “entertainment hours” which includes any time spent watching movies, listening to music or streaming tv shows. You can bet a significant amount of it includes Xbox Live Arcade games though.
