State of Decay: Lifeline

Last week, Undead Labs announced the second expansion to its zombie apocalypse simulation surprise hit, and recipient of XBLA Fans’ GotY 2013 award, State of Decay. The new DLC is called Lifeline and while Undead Community Director Sanya Weathers remained coyly tight-lipped on specifics, she did confirm the existence of a new map. Unfortunately, no further details were provided…until now.

Senior Designer Geoffrey Card posted a design article that offers some interesting insights into Lifeline. In this expansion pack, players will assume the role of a small military unit, Greyhound One, near the beginning of the zombie outbreak, unlike the main game, which dropped us into the middle of a collapsed society. This change allows Undead Labs to explore an angle rarely seen in the genre: the breakdown of military structure and hierarchy! For more information, check out Card’s post.
