February is shaping up to be a good month for Xbox One gamers. Cobalt from Oxeye Game Studios is set to release February 2 for $19.99 after a few delay hiccups. Play as a cute cyborg with a passion for 2d multiplayer battles involving extreme slow-mo and combat rolls. The side scrolling action adventure game is being published by Minecraft creator Mojang and given that Minecraft is said to have over 100 million registered players, Cobalt is sure to generate some interest. No pressure then.

Fortified from Clapfoot Inc. is a tower defense, third-person strategy shooter set in the 1950s Cold War era. Players take control of one-of-four pulp character classes to command troops and defensive structures and fight swarms of alien robotic invaders. Gamers can battle alone or team up with up to four-players in online co-op mode. Fortified will release February 3 for $14.99 or preorder now for a 15% discount.

Finally, Polish indie developers Bloober Team hope to put the fear into February with the release of Layers of Fear. Players take on the role of a tormented painter as he fruitlessly battles his inner demons and troubled past to put onto canvas his crowning achievement. The first person horror game is being published by Aspyr Media and will debut February 16 for $12.99.
