There are only four days left till Christmas 2014! That leaves only three “retail” shopping days left!

If you have a gamer on you list that you need to still get a gift for, or if you just are looking for more stocking stuffers, Microsoft is once again offering the ability to digitally send a gift cards to Microsoft accounts. Read on for more information on how to send a digital gift card to a friend or loved one just in time for Christmas; or the specific holiday you celebrate.

Weather you go to the official Microsoft website, or download the Windows Phone application, Microsoft has made it extremely easy to send a digital gift card to fellow gamers. The recipient of he gift card will be able to use these funds not only on Xbox games but also apps, music, movies, and TV shows on any of their Windows family of devices.

Pick a design, pick an amount, enter in an email, make a payment and the amount you choose will be credited to the Microsoft account associated with the email you enter. This does mean you will need the email address registered to the specific gamertag, or Microsoft account, for the person you want to send a gift card to, but that can be easily asked for. You even have the option to schedule a delivery date for your gift card.

I personally went though this process of sending a gift card to my best friend so he would be able to purchase new games for his Xbox One just last week. Within seconds of sending the gift card the funds were credited to my his account and he was able to make a purchase right away. It could not have gone any easier. I even entered in the email incorrectly initially but was able to go back in and edit this to the correct address later.

So if you are a “present buying procrastinator” or just want to pick up a last minute gift for the gamer in your family head over to the Microsoft site and look into sending a digital gift card. Not only will you get the joy of giving a gift to that special someone but you know the recipient will be able to get exactly what they want for the holidays.
