It’s never cool when a game gets canceled, but for a select few it’s a low down crying shame. Well, get out the tissues, because Megaman Universe got the axe. Yep, the Megaman 2-inspired platformer with built-in level and character editor is no more. Joystiq reports that Capcom claims it was canceled due to “various circumstances”, which is about as vague as you can get. They did point out that the Megaman creator Keiji Inafune left Capcom in October of last year. Whether Inafune left due to creative differences, trouble at Capcom, or for greener pastures we don’t know, but it’s likely to tie in to why MMU was canceled. In the game’s honor we’ve posted the original trailers after the jump. Hope your hanky is nearby.
