Capcom has hit us with a double whammy of official announcements for rumors that have been circulating for the past few days. First there’s Marvel vs. Capcom 3, due out in the Spring of 2011.  It will employ a cel-shaded 2.5D style similar to Street Fighter IV. With over 30 characters including awesome additions like Super-Skrull, Deadpool, and Dante and helmed by the man behind Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, this will be another must have in this fighting genre that has seen a new resurgence lately. This time around Marvel vs. Capcom goes retail, so don’t expect to see it on Xbox Live Arcade.

The second title, Bionic Commando: Rearmed 2, will launch in early 2011. The biggest surprise? Protagonist Nathan Spencer has now learned the advanced skill of jumping. To any fans of the series since the NES version it’is a very exciting development and opens up a whole new realm of gameplay possibilities. Looks like the first half of 2011 will be filled with quality retro-remixes and more awesome cross over battles.
