Remember a few years ago when paranormal reality TV shows like Ghost Hunters were all the rage? Cameras followed a few brave souls who would spend the night in seemingly haunted locales, using an array of sophisticated-ish equipment in an effort to capture evidence and commune with the dead. That experience has been lifted into the realm of videogames, serving as the premise for the long-rumored Ghost Game by Michigan-based developer Scientifically Proven.

When we last heard from the tentatively-titled Ghost Game, it placed you in the role of a ghost hunter skulking around a fictional Detroit hotel, The Garrick Arms, searching for a number of missing persons. New prototype footage (above) showcases the real-life paranormal investigation equipment and a loosely described plot revolving around a series of ghosts who know no peace. Oh, and they’re understandably pissed. Information on the game and when it could surface is scarce, but it’s looking like a lock for Xbox Live Arcade.

Ghost Game isn’t the first time Scientifically Proven has dabbled in television-based game development. The studio co-developed 2011’s Man vs. Wild, a survival videogame tie-in to the TV show, before turning its attention to the mobile sector with CasinoCats. Proven’s next confirmed title is Blood of the Werewolf, a retro platformer set against the backdrop of classic monsters.
