It’s not unusual for game companies to throw superlatives upon themselves, no matter how unwarranted. However, in the case of Case Zero, we think Capcom is just ahead of the curve. In fact, we felt Case Zero deserved a spot on our Top 15 Games that Changed XBLA Forever. Capcom clearly agrees:

“It’s the most dynamic sales weapon we have ever had in our arsenal, giving us the equivalent exposure of a multi-million pound TV campaign,” Capcom’s UK product manager Karl Reader told MCV. “We foresee other publishers will follow suit.”

The game topped the Xbox Live Activity Charts last month and sold over 500,000 copies. Some pretty impressive stats on their own, but what will be interesting is to see how Dead Rising 2 sells, and how much of that (assuming the results can even be tracked) can be attributed to Case Zero. Either way, Case Zero was a successful game in its own right.
