The Splatters fire their way on to Xbox Live Arcade
Highly promising physics-sensation The Splatters is set to be published by Microsoft Studios on Xbox LIVE Arcade ahead of its PC release in 2012. The Splatters are a bunch of ever-smiling, semi-suicidal master acrobats with one purpose in life: to blow themselves up. Slam them against walls, crash them into spikes, ride the slides and chain spectacular stunt-combos to rack up massive scores. Get creative to make the most out of every setting and put on the best show in town.
The Splatters is being developed by indie newcomers SpikeSnail, a two man team operating out of their homes in Israel. The game was originally announced for PC under the “work-in-progress” title of Confetti Carnival and received high praise becoming IGF finalist, Indie Game Challenge nominee and PAX10 winner.
Co-founder Sagi Koren said of the recent announcement, “We are thrilled to see Microsoft bring The Splatters to hardcore gamers worldwide. Splatters is a challenging game that redefines the term replay value. We couldn’t think of a better venue than XBLA for our creation”.
Gameplay is said to be sandbox-like with multiple ways to complete each level. Your goal is to destroy the confetti bombs using the Splatters. The more creative, the better the score. Their tagline? Life’s Short. Die with style! Gamers will be able to get their mitts on an exclusive demo version of The Splatters at PAX Prime in Seattle (August 26-28).
