Long a staple on Steam and more recently appearing on the PlayStation 4, pre-ordering digital games has given gamers on these platforms the ability to instantly jump into each highly anticipated release even before midnight shoppers can unwrap the plastic on theirs.  The Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, revealed during Microsoft’s presentation at Gamescon 2014 that pre-ordering and pre-downloading will come to the Xbox One for select titles.  Two titles mentioned were Forza Horizon 2 and FIFA 15, with more assuredly on their way.  If this initiative proves a success, the prospect for program expansions appears likely.
