Xbox gamers looking for additional, finer control options than offered by the standard Xbox One pad will find them on store shelves next month. Microsoft’s Major Nelson has confirmed that the Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller’s release date is October 27, the same day Halo 4 launches, and be priced at $150.
Word of the controller’s possible release date first spread last week when it showed up on the Microsoft Store, but Microsoft did not confirm the date until Major Nelson’s tweet.
The Elite pad will ship with a trio of swappable analog sticks of varying heights, paddles for the rear of the controller and circular and plus-shaped d-pads. The high-end controller also allows users to adjust the amount of pressure required to click in individual triggers.
A new Xbox One bundle containing the Elite Wireless Controller and a 1 TB hybrid drive that holds frequently accessed files in solid state storage will also release on October 27. Microsoft has priced the bundle at $499.99.
