Games with Gold offers Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light free today

Starting today, Xbox Live Gold members can download Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light free of charge, courtesy of Microsoft’s Games with Gold program. Games with Gold serves up new titles every two weeks, allowing Gold members the chance to snag some free games that are theirs to keep even after the download window.

If you’re unfamiliar with Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, it’s a fantastic twin-stick shooter loaded with puzzles and designed for single player or co-op play. In fact, we recently included it in our list of Xbox 360’s best XBLA games of all time, and recommended you ‘Buy It’ in our original review. Fortunately, now the adventures of the titular duo can be yours for free, today through January 31, by heading over to the marketplace while it’s available.

Players looking to add more of a psychotic element to their adventure can also pick up the Kane & Lynch Character Pack, also for free, which swaps out the likenesses of Lara and Totec for the criminal pair.
