G. Rev skip shops, go digital-only with new title.
G. Rev, developers of SHMUP title Senko no Ronde have decided for their next title to skip stores all together, and go XBLA only. Will this become a common trait? No one can say for sure, but we can say that this title looks very interesting! Full details after the jump!
Now, I am not going to pretend I have ever heard of G. Rev, or their past titles. I actually had to look them up and some very japanese-y titles came up, with anime school girls, beyblades, and giant robots. Is that a bad thing? No, not at all. I know however that they are not a small-time developer, but that they are just a very Japanese developer. They tend to make SHMUP titles, which is alright by me!
Their latest title (in America): Wartech: Senko no Ronde, revolved around anime-teens saving the world… with giant robots. The sequel (released only in Japan) was the same thing. The new game, Seisou Kouki Strania seems to be more of the same. But, if it aint broke don’t fix it.
The new one involves you, controlling a giant robot, and carrying up to 3 different weapons: different lasers cannons, guns, and swords. Each weapon working better against different enemies. And supports co-op play online and offline. Stated to be released sometime in 2011, no plans for release outside of Japan have been announced but is a possibility. Trailer below, and let us know in the comments if you are excited for this title!
