Today at EA Play, Electronic Arts’ E3 conference, a new initiative to help bring small developers’ new ideas to fruition was announced. This new program is called EA Originals; the goal of the program is offer security and funding to a handful of small developers each year so that they can focus on making their games great and all that they imagine them to be. They are also pledging that the profits from the games in the program will go to the developers that are actually making the games rather than themselves.
The first game coming from EA Originals is Fe which is being developed by a small studio called Zoink in Gothenburg, Sweden. Fe seeks to examine the relationship between nature, the land, and all of the planets’ beings. Zoink hopes that game reminds people that everything in the world is connected and we all live in a delicate balance. Zoink released the game’s first trailer, which can be seen below, during the conference. No platforms or release window have been announced yet so hopefully more about Fe will be revealed in the near future.
